Why Choose Mexico for Your Baby’s Arrival?
For some families, it starts with the sea and a warmer way of life. For others, it is about their child’s citizenship and future possibilities. Mexico brings together practical opportunities and a setting where you may want to stay a little longer.

Mexican Citizenship by Birth & Residency Option for Parents.
A baby born in Mexico is Mexican by birth, regardless of the parents’ nationalities. Your child may also be eligible for citizenship through a parent. A Mexican passport gives access to more than 150 destinations without a visa obtained in advance.
Parents of a Mexican child may also apply directly for permanent residency through their family connection, without first completing a period of temporary residency. Each parent’s application and supporting documents must meet the applicable requirements. Also parents of a Mexican child may become eligible to apply for naturalization after two years.

Warm Weather & Everyday Comfort. A Caribbean Childhood.
Life here can include morning walks, fresh local food and more time outdoors. Choosing the right neighborhood, home and transport helps make your stay comfortable during pregnancy and after your baby arrives. If you decide to stay, the beach can become your child’s first sandbox. Little feet in the sand, afternoons by the Caribbean and time together outdoors can become part of your family’s everyday life.

Modern Private Maternity Care.
Riviera Maya is home to modern private hospitals offering advanced medical technology and specialist care across a wide range of disciplines. The region includes hospitals working with internationally recognized quality and patient safety frameworks, such as Joint Commission International and Accreditation Canada.
This infrastructure forms part of Mexico’s established medical tourism offering and extends to pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care.
Your maternity experience can begin with choosing a doctor who takes the time to understand your health, previous birth experiences and personal wishes. Following a consultation, you can explore the options appropriate for your pregnancy, including vaginal birth in a hospital, a planned C-section or water birth at selected facilities. If you are considering a home birth, this requires a separate assessment with a qualified maternity professional and clear arrangements for emergency care and hospital transfer.

Explore Residency for Your Family
Start with a clear picture of what needs to happen before you arrive. We help you organize your document checklist, identify any apostilles or translations required for your planned procedures, and map out practical arrangements and anticipated expenses.
Your plan takes account of your expected due date, family circumstances and intended length of stay. Travel timing and medical suitability should be discussed with your treating doctor, alongside the requirements of your airline and destination.
We help you connect with local maternity providers and arrange conversations about their approach, available facilities, languages and fees. You can discuss your birth preferences directly with your doctor and clarify what is included in the proposed care.
Before choosing a hospital, we help you obtain information about where your doctor practises, the services available for you and your baby, and the arrangements for additional care if needed. Medical recommendations and treatment remain with your healthcare team.
Find a comfortable place to stay with the location, space and everyday essentials your family needs. Support can include accommodation research, property checks, arrival transfers and practical help getting settled before your baby arrives.
We can also coordinate a separate rental agreement review and help you plan transport between your accommodation, appointments and hospital.
Make time for yourself through gentle movement, breathing and relaxation. We arrange prenatal yoga adapted to your stage of pregnancy, experience and your healthcare provider’s recommendations.
After the birth, postpartum sessions offer a gradual return to movement when you are ready and your healthcare provider has cleared you to begin. We discuss the format and schedule around your needs.
Make communication and practical arrangements easier during a time when you have plenty to think about. Depending on your agreed plan, we can coordinate language assistance, appointment accompaniment and practical arrangements for hospital admission and discharge.
After the birth, support can continue with scheduling follow-up appointments and organizing everyday needs. The scope, availability and hours of support are agreed in advance, including any arrangements for attendance at the hospital.
We help you prepare for birth registration and organize the next administrative steps, which may include your baby’s Mexican birth certificate, CURP and passport, along with apostilles, translations or consular procedures relevant to your family.
The document plan depends on your family circumstances and the requirements of the authorities involved. If a parent cannot attend an appointment or your situation needs specialist advice, we help coordinate the appropriate support.
If you are considering a longer-term future in Mexico, we help you understand the residency procedures that may be relevant after your baby is born and organize the supporting documents and appointments.
Parents of a Mexican child may qualify to apply for permanent residence through a family connection. Each family member’s eligibility and required procedure must be reviewed individually. Where necessary, we coordinate support from a qualified Mexican immigration lawyer.
